I have a white lines gecko that I have been having some trouble with his feet having dead shed skin on them that I can not get off. I want to move him out of his arboreal Exo Terra and put him in a ten gallon tank temporarily so I can really up the humidity. I want to make a plexiglass or wood lid for it with just a hole big enough to put screen mesh on for the heat lamp. If I was to use wood for the lid what would be a good sealant to use so the heat wouldn't give off any toxic fumes?

Better suggestion, cut something to cover the screen on the top. I have used plexiglass and coroplast. That light fixture your using is part of your issue, they will suck a ton of humidity out of one of those cages. And the direct answer to your original question, polycrylic works great for me, just follow the directions and use 3 coats. You could even make the custom top for the exoterra.
