    Just want to throw this out there. I find it very odd that somebody would give oral antibiotics to a snake. Reason being, snakes digestive tracts are unique that they become inactive between feedings, not to mention that the absorbtion of oral meds in snakes is poorly understood. This is why injectable antibiotics are usually given.
    Is this vet comfertable with treating reptiles or is he/she a vet that will see reptiles on occasion?

    Forgive me, after some reading a bit, it looks like there are a few antibiotics given orally to snakes.
    Another question is was there culture and sensitivity sent out to isolate the type of bacteria? It may be something to consider if the symptoms are returning.
