What's This Wound On This Black Racer?

I play pest control for my neighborhood because the children are often frightened by larger snakes that get into their home or pool (or the parents think they'll eat their cats). I live in Florida mind you, so we have python and gator hunts.

I pulled this guy out of a closed patio and was wondering what this wound was? Could it be superficial, rot, something bad?

(No I won't be keeping the snake, just wanna play doctor for five minutes and know if the poor babe is hurting.)

Looks like a puncture wound, perhaps from a bird or dog, but long healed. There's not any pus or anything right?
If not he's probably fine. Racers are tough.

No pus or anything. When I was checking the rest of him, it seemed pretty healed but a little open. I put a bandage wrap around it, so until he wiggles out of it then. He is a tough guy (damn buddy bit me, that's what I get).
