I want to know whathat type of tortoise should I get? I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I will make an outdoor enclosure. My only worry is the temperature. The lowest recorded temperature in Nova Scotia was -41... but I don't get that low where I live. I'd say the lowest it will get is -20(-4 fahrenheit) (and that's mid winter) the highest temp it can get to is low 30s(up to 90 fahrenheit) in summer. I was thinking of Russian tortoise, because they can burrow to get away from cold temp, and I can put a hide box underground. Please help me find the correct tortoise!

A Russian tortoise would be the most tolerant of cold temperatures... however hibernating them is tricky and can be dangerous, you can easily kill your tortoise. If you provide a heated hide so the temperatures stay around 40f, it may be possible to have a successful hibernation. Personally, I would bring them into a garage or something during winter months so I can easily and accurately control temps.
