    Hi everyone,

New here and I just rescued a box turtle from a neglected home. I was wondering what everyone uses as substrate. I want to give her the best so recommendations are very welcome!

I know you can use ground coconut shell or spagnam moss, bio active substrate..... anything that holds moisture really well..... if you don't have the right humidity they can develop a vitamin a deficiency and can cause eye problems

For my box turtles I use sphagnum peat moss. It has the consistency of dirt and holds moisture rather well.
  4. Mix of eco earth little moss and :D
