    Hi all,

I come here seeking your help… I have had this tiger salamander (Sneak) for 10+ years now with no problems. Just about a month ago, there was this little black wart looking thing that showed up on his lower lip. Now it has gotten bigger and looks worse...Here's a link to a pic I have up on dropbox.

I'm trying to figure out what it is and how I can get rid of it. I have an appointment for a herp vet in Manhattan on Tuesday but they are going to want $120 just to look at him, and then however much after that… I'm trying to avoid that.

    Thank you for your help!!!

That's one I have never seen before, but I don't deal with amphibians much.

Are you sure it's a fungus and not a parasite?

That is not a fungus, it looks more like a parasite and it looks like it is going to come out at any second. Ughhhhh you should schedule a vet trip.

What a cutie! It could possibly be an abscess of some sort. I think you're going to have to head to the vet.
