I went and did a little herping on my first day of summer. It was raining lightly and not much was out. There was one spot where I saw at least two Water Snakes, but I couldn't tell how many there actually were. I caught this one.

Anyone know exactly what kind? I was thinking Banded or Mississippi Green, but let me know what you think.

Nice find! I don't know much about water snakes so can't be of any help with identification, but it looks like a very nice specimen.

Umm, kind of an off white if I remember correctly. I had seen another one that had more distinct bands right by this one, but I couldn't get a picture.

I'm actually leaning towards a Mississippi Green. I think that fits the bill more than anything else.
