    Hi all,

This snake is a rescue found in May far outside the black rat snake range. Over the last couple months the scales on her nose and the top of her head have started to look damaged. She is very active and I often catch her rubbing on things, including the screen covering her viv, seemingly trying to escape. I think that she's just rubbing and doing damage to the scales herself, but has anyone seen anything like this before? I want to make sure it isn't some sort of disease since she was found in the wild. If you agree that it's probably from rubbing, what are some ways I can stop that?

    Thank you!

Just looks like some retained scales from a poor shed to me. Most likely an issue with humidity, what humidity do you keep the cage at and what are you using to measure it?
