I have an empty 40 gallon breeder aquarium, and I was wondering if anyone could give a suggestion for something that could live in it for it's whole life. I really don't feel like upgrading it. My current ideas for stocking would be a loggerhead musk turtle, or a southern painted turtle. I really appreciate the help.

The musk turtle would be a great choice no matter which gender you get but as far as the painted turtle you would be better with a male as they are smaller and won't outgrow your 40 breeder but the female will, being that there is no guarantee with picking genders as babies that is up to you if you want to take the risk.
