Can someone please help me identify this toad? Thank you!
Where was it located?
Republic of Congo, in a sandy clearing within a dense forest.
Looks like a type of African big eyed treefrog (Not a toad).
Possibly Leptopelis aubryi (Gaboon forest treefrog)
Might not be that exact species. Might be bocagii or vermiculatus or something else. But I'm pretty sure it's in the Leptopelis genus.
I can't speculate on an id. But, that is one of the most fascinating frogs I have ever seen.
Thanks for your help! It does look like a Leptopelis. I will try to find more and get some better photos thanks again!
