Does anyone have any suggestions for reliable temp/humidity gauges? I tossed my old one because the numbers were so out of whack that it was laughable and I don't want to spend money on another that won't be any good either.

Acurite Indoor outdoor thermometer/hydrometer with probe. Walmart or Lowes.

Hey there, I just got one of the Acurite temp/hydrometer with the probe, but the probe only reads the outside temp. So do I put the whole unit in the enclosure?

You can. The probe will give you the hotspot and the unit will give you the ambient. For bigger tanks I just use two units.

The base unit is what reads the humidity and indoor temp, the probe reads outdoor temp. I usually place the base at the cool end and the probe either on the basking site or just at the warm end if I want a temp reading there. I usually use a temp gun for basking sites anyway.
