I just got a frozen mouse out to thaw and it didn't have an odor until it was thawed. It smelled like fish, pretty bad. I threw it out but I'm wondering what the smell could be from? The mouse looked fine, no injuries or anything. I get them from petco.

It could be a case of the mouse having been allowed to thaw and sit out and then refrozen before you bought it. How were you thawing it?
Frozen mice will have a slight odor but nothing like what you are describing.
    I'd have tossed it too.

I'm not sure where you're located but if you plug in your state and reptile show into a search engine you should be able to find a reptile expo where a vendor will be selling frozen feeders. You can buy them in bulk and for a better price then petco. You can also have frozen feeders shipped to your door.

I always use rodentpro.com, never had an issue.
