I saw someone posting a uro up online for sale. This picture was one that was posted. What is that?? Worms? I commented asking the seller and my comment was deleted.
Many male lizards secret a waxy substance through their femoral pores that dragging across their territory scent marks their area. But I have never seen anything quite that dramatic.
As Merlin noted above, this is something seen primarily in males where they excrete a waxy substance and or follicles (known as hairs, combs or lipids) through their femoral pores in order to mark territory. Uromastyx will often run circles around a cagemate/mate, basking area or food dish in late winter/early spring when their hormones are running on high. Perfectly normal, especially for male ornata.
