I have slate tile for my beardie enclosure and i was wondering if it would be safe to level the tiles with play sand so they dont wobble? I was also wondering if i should wash the slate tile in a bleach/water mixture?

I use porceline tiles right now, I just place them on the bottom and remove for cleaning. I could see how slate might be a problem if it is not level and those darn crickets will find any space to hide under. Not sure if the sand would be inviting to the feeders also? Have you ever thought about making the slate more Permanent, is your enclosure wooden? if so your could always grout it in and seal the grout for easy cleaning!

I don't think that real slate would be very porous, as long as you give it a very good rinse.
