I've been told that a Reptisun 5.0 bulb in a 20gallon tank won't provide them with enough UVB. I want my two Anoles to synthesis their D3, but I have heard from many sources that a Reptisun 5.0 bulb will work, so I just want input from other Anole keepers or experienced reptile keepers. Thanks.

You were NOT told that a 5-0 fluorescent tube would not work effectively, I specifically stated the compact bulbs are not very reliable/effective. Just because a good number of people use them doesn`t mean they`re what`s best for the animal/s...

I said a 5.0 bulb, not fluorescent tube.

I would like to point out that the reptisun 5.0 comes in both a compact and a fluorescent tube.
If it's the compact bulb it doesn't produce hardly any uvb, the most it can replicate in any reasonable situation is dense shade. It has also been known to damage reptiles eyes.
The fluorescent tube is probably ok though.

The tubes are fine. Its the little curly compact bulbs that you are being warned about. The reptisun tubes have been a staple in the hobby for decades.
    It can get confusing.
