Hello, I am hoping you guys can help, because my local vet was useless. I took him in, and they ran bloodwork, but everything came back fine. I didnt get anymore tests done because it felt like they where shooting in the dark. His urates are very runny, and there is blood in them. He recently stopped using his hides as well. He has two hides, cold and hot, and his hot side is at 93, while is cold side is around 85. He has also stopped eating the past 3 weeks. He is very skinny, and was that way when I received him. Can anyone help?

What has he eaten? How old is he? how long have you had him? Where did you get him? how are you measuring the temps? (If it's not a digital thermometer with probe or temp gun it's wrong), what is the humidity? Did you take him to a reptile vet? (A normal vet is not good enough usually)

I have been feeding frozen rats since I got him. Before he was fed live rats. He i about 2 years old. I got him 2 months ago from craigslist. I am measuring temps with a digital thermometer with a prob. Humidity is 50%, he has been shedding fine with it all coming off in one piece. The Vet said they work with all animals, but I need to find a specialists I guess.

Yeah there are vets that work exclusively with reptiles. There is a list on this site. If you live in a city there should be one close to you, I live in a rural zone so, I have to drive almost an hour.

Uh oh.. Sounds like you bought a sick snake.. Snakes, especially boas, can hide illness very well and sometimes Craigslist steals aren't as good as they appear. I'd head to a reptile vet asap... Get him in yesterday!

I don't know what it could possibly be. But like the others said get it to a reptile vet. And like Eriksexotics said Craigslist buys aren't always the best. I revued a boa no to long ago from Craigslist, and he was pretty much in his deathbed and I took him to the vet and he died the next day. I only owned him for a week. I hope your snake gets better! I wish you and him/her the best.

My last Craigslist snake was an,'08 Pastel Dream and the snake turned out to have neurological issues from what the says is probably from having too hot of an enclosure when he was young. It doesn't affect jis health but he moves a bit awkwardly. Could've been worse but that's just a small example. I
Unfortunately I have a few more examples of why I no longer buy from cl
