So I have been around reptiles myself, Father was a breeder as am I, with that being said I understand that being bitten or tagged comes with the business. The problem I'm facing is I have a 4 year old female red tail and she's always been very docile when handling daily, loves to just rest on my shoulder and look around. I clean her cage out every Sunday and replace water daily, for some reason today I was cleaning her cage and she tagged my arm very quickly then went back to laying there? What could have caused her to strike at me randomly? I am 96% certain I didn't do anything out of normal routine.

From my experience they're never 100% ok with hands poking around their home. Might have just been a mood. I don't think this really indicates anything, just normal healthy snake behavior.

You may have startled the snake. If it's not something that regularly occurs I wouldn't worry about it.
