My latin is sorely lacking - I took spanish in high school.

How do you pronounce "Drymarchon couperi" - the Eastern Indigo?

Hi, the correct pronunciation is Dri-markon cooper-"eye". If the name had a double i on the end, it`s pronounced "i" (as in sit) then I (as in I myself), which means "Varanus gouldii" would be gould-i-eye.
Anytime the word ends in ae it`s pronounced E (as in see).
Iguanidae= Igwan-id-ee. I understand in America (and a few other parts of the world) you pronounce the AE as A (as in hay), which with respect is incorrect (sorry)! ;)
