Hey guys. New Viv set up, waiting to see how it's working, thermometers, thermostat, heat mat, heat cover, substrate all put In, leaving for 24 hrs to see if all is running okay before I put shakira In! Does all look okay? Wires are a tad bit everywhere..
Hey! So you need a digital thermometer/hygrometer, and I'm assuming you are putting in hides? As well as a moist hide. Besides that looks great! What is the substrate chips in the middle?
Okay so I have a hygrometer, 2 thermometers in there and yes I have hides too. It was only set up and you have to wait 24 hours before you out a snake in
When you finally finally do "out" the snake in, hopefully you won`t use the analogue gauges to measure anything because they are often quite inaccurate...
I would take the analog gauges out now, and put in digital, so you can know what accurate temps and humidity are before shakira goes in. I'm assuming that's why you are waiting 24 hours to make sure conditions are right and the heat pad and thermostat are working correctly? If so you won't be able to tell if you have inaccurate measuring devices.
Looks like a nice setup, but where are the vents? One other thing I'd recommend, some sort of shelf with an elevated hide. That allows the snake to use a vertical temp gradient to comfortably regulate body temp. Even my wee baby garter snake uses the one in her tub, and garters aren't climbing snakes like corns. Sticks or branches for climbing would also be used by a corn snake.
