So yesterday, I got a pet beardie, love him! He is adapting well to his new home, except for one problem. He loves crickets, but won't eat mealworms. I tried feeding him both insects (alive AND dead), and he only ate the crickets. Is this a problem? Should I try something different or stick to crickets? By the way, he also loves to eat fruits and vegetables. And if this info is relevant, he is 3 months old!

    Thanks!

When you feed him do you just drop food in or do you offer him worms from your fingers\tongs?

A cricket diet is fine. Between those and a good mix of veggies it will be fine. Mealworms are not a necessity.

If they are gut loaded, crickets are alot healthier than mealworms anyway. Plus, you can always experiment with other feeder insects and see if he might like them as an additional supplement. Mealworms are by no means one of the better, or (in my experience) even readily eaten feeders out there.
