Lunch with a Lizard, on Lemon Mtn(tucson).

    i was hiking the trails on lemon mtn and stopped for lunch.
    this guy came out to see what i was doing.

    its about 9" nose to tail tip.

    Reminds me of the agamas in Namibia maybe it came to eat som american hotdogs and hoagies

    A collared lizard. Which specific one, I'm not sure. I rescued one from a zoo once. Stuffed him in my camera bag and headed for the door. Haha. He was in a big walk-in indoor exhibit....for very large birds!! He was lunch!!! I jumped over the little wall, snatched him up, and away we went. He lived about 4 good years at my house, eating lunch, not being lunch. Haha.

    i was real tempted to grab him, but he had such a nice home i figured id leave him be. lol

    Collared lizards can be pretty bold! They also have a good bite!
    Just a little trivia about them. In the old days they were known as "mountain boomers" and were said to be deadly venomous!
