Most people will tell you the stick on thermometer is worthless. I use indoor/outdoor digitals that I bought at Walmart for about $9 each.
More expensive, but worth it. They give me the Max and Min temps as well.
The sick on thermometer is just giving you the temp of the glass, which is a mix between the room temp and the cage temp. Knox has the right idea, pick up an indoor/outdoor thermometer. I found one for $13 at Home Depot and it will give you a warm and a cool side of the actual TANK. Not the glass.
Well i just ran to petco get some in tank thermometers. The cool side temp differs from around 74-77 and the hot side differs from 80-85. I put some moss on the cool side to hold moisture. i put about 5 crickets in there but they havent touched um well i guess we will have to wait to see if hey eat i hope they do.
You are going to have to give them a week to settle in. Now that you have things straightened out, leave them alone except to change out water and food, and to clean out poop.
