I've had this baby gray banded king snake for almost 3 weeks, and finally got it to eat....almost. The snake bit on and swallowed it about half way. After about a half hour, it gave up on swallowing the other half and let go of it. He had it had it half way down (head first), but he just couldn't swallow it...this was the smallest f/t pinkie, and it was quite small. Am I supposed to feed b
hatchlings something other than pinkie mice first?

There are a couple sized to pinks as well. See if you can find "Day Olds", as the name implies these are 1 day old pinkies, the smallest you can find. If that is to large for the snake, and I have seen some grey bands that small, you may have to start on small lizards or other foods.

Pictures with size comparisons would help a lot.

You can always cut the pinky in half, length wise(head to tail). Cut it when it is frozen and thaw half.
