I just received my new Mega Ray 160w and put it in my bearded dragons cage (on top). at 19in from her basking spot its putting out a little over 300 uW/cm2 of UVB. Am i wrong or is that a little to much for a bearded dragon? Im using a solarmeter 6.2.

Don't forget that with a new bulb they will take a few day to burn in (forget what they call it) So its usually recommended that you keep it farther away during this time.
I'm sure that someone else may come by and explain it better.

No bulb makes as much UVB as the sun.

Yes true but putting any living thing under to much UBV isn't safe and that's what im trying to find out. The bulb, according to their web site is supposed to put out between 150-200 uWcm2 at 18 inches. This particular bulb puts out a lot more than that.
