Ideas For Portable Turtle Hab?

    Hey there,

I have 2 red-ear sliders but they are currently being watched by my dad. Unfortunately, I know he is not caring for them properly and he isn't willing to find them a better home. Because of this, I am considering taking them but I'm not sure what I'd do with them.

As a college student, I move about once a year so I need a habitat that can be moved easily. I don't want a tank because the appropriate size would be too bulky, too heavy, too fragile, too expensive, and overall just not accommodating for 2 turtles. I saw this website with some fantastic ideas for a surface mounted pond but no information on where I can get one. So what I am wondering is:

Do you have any ideas for light-weight, movable aquatic turtle habs?
Do you have any advice for custom habitats or care in general?
Do you know where I might get some more info on obtaining an above-ground pond along the west coast? I'm not very handy so I don't think I could really build one myself.

I'm considering a mid-size swimming pool, but I don't really know the logistics of it yet. Any insight or advice?

The pond inserts are sold in garden shops as well as places that cater to Koi ponds. I see them around here at Lowes and Home Depot.

Don't have a link at the moment, but a 50 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank from a farm supply place might be just what you need. Very light when empty, affordable, and practically indestructible. Measures about 2' or 2.5'×4'× about a foot deep. Might be tight for a couple redears spending on size, but it would work fine if they aren't huge yet.
