My Ball is almost full grown and I want to make him a humid hide. What size box should I use? All the plans on the internet show small plastic food containers and I can't picture an adult ball fitting in there.
Also how often should I change the moss to keep from getting mildew?

You want the hide to be cozy and snug. They don't care for their hides being too big. You can find plastic tubs in a variety of sizes.
By using long fibered sphagnum moss it wil be less likely to mildew. Sphagnum has a natural antifungal property.

Is that a good thing to use in a corn snake moist hide? And should thy only be used when I can tell they are in she'd or available all the time? Cool side or hot side?

I've never heard of a humid hide for corns just balls. I suppose it would't hurt to add it to there terrarium and see if they take to it.

I don't use humid hides with my corns.
I keep my corns in tubs and have never had a shedding issue.
