I have found a breeder near me. He has me on a waiting list to get one. At what age is the best time to get them? He said that he lets them go pretty much as soon as they are born. Does that make him less reputable? I have looked at the GHI site, also Urban Jungles. They are a bit pricey for my first amazon tree boa. He sells them for $75, for the garden phase, - $150, for the different colors. No shipping. I'm gonna build my own cage. Thanks for any help.

Most reputable breeders will ensure the babies will feed at least 3 times prior to selling.

As Ken said, a good breeder will ensure they are feeding well before selling.
Our breeders have waited 8-10 feedings.

If he is selling babies as soon as they are born I would look elsewhere!

Agreed again with everyone,, selling them without knowing if they will feed is a little shady to me.
