my ball python, Moses has been hiding for about a week or two now. He's usually very active, exploring his cage around 12 AM to come out every night. But now he's not.

I changed his substrate a few weeks ago, and then rearranged his enclosure a week or 2 after that. Is he hiding because he's in a new setup? Could it also be from the weather getting colder?

It could be a number of things and what you mentioned could be the cause. it is really difficult to tell what the snakes are thinking and why. Minor changes can result in snakes going of their prey so changes that are more abrupt can certainly alter their behavior.

Could be a whole list of things, it maybe getting close to a shed, the tank change may have thrown it off, etc. Double check you still have the correct temps and humidity, but it may just be a ball python being a ball python.
