So i am going to be building some hides because my petshops around here are just awful. They have nothing! I am going to be using styrofoam and cut it out to look like i want. The problem is i think i have a sealant but what can i paint it with? just regular paints? because i dont know whats going to be harmful to them.

Sorry just figured out leopard geckos from your signature!
Here is a great side to get some ideas, Water based paints and sealers. I would a plastic ziplock container for the moist hide though.
Lizard care, and fake rock wall landscapes
clay flower pots placed upside down with a hole cut out of the side,

Most paints dry non-toxic. If it's going to be under a layer of sealant, you will be fine. I use acrylics.
