My 44 gal corner tank was sitting empty so I decided to add Hermit crabs to the tank. I don't have a background for it and was bored of looking at the wall so after some online and here research I made this:

    Styrofoam + caulking
3 layers of grout, some acrylic paint and 1 coat of polycrylic
Doing a couple more coats of sealer and its good to go!
I am building up 6 inches of sand and ee for the crabs to tunnel in

    The battle wounds:
Don't watch scary movies while cutting styrofoam!!! My tetnus shot was way past due so had to get that too and sit in the ER with some drunk passed out guy who got escorted off the property... lol!

I will post pics once the final coat is done and it's set up in the tank :)

It looks great! The background I mean, the cut look like you did a good job of that as well. Be Careful!!! Try to stay out of the ER and those drunks LOL ;) At least you don't have to worry about another tetanus shot for 10 years!

    It's done!!
I hot glued some plastic plants on to add some color
Top view in the tank, needs realistic water dishes lol
    From the front
I am really happy with the out come! It was worth the stiches and tetnus shot! LOL

Wow, its incredible, that is a very lucky hermit crab!
You did an amazing job, wish you lived closer to me, I started to do a little work with my beardies tank.
So what did you end up using for a sealer?
Edit; nevermind, just saw that you used polycrylic
