My sister found a little longnose snake. It has several healing wounds, by our neighbors cat no doubt. Not sure If I am just going to try and nurse it back to health and release it or it keep it as a pet. I hear its difficult to get them on a diet of rodents though. I have access to lizards I can feed to it and scent pinkies(as soon as my mice start having litters). pictures soon

What are the laws on owning local reptiles in your area?
It's always good to release back into the wild, less stress on the animals, Just my opinion.

Its legal. I could legally collect 19 more this year if I Want too. but I am fine with this one. I'm worried it would be eaten by the cats(worst invasive species in the US!) if I released it.

Agreed!! We have lost most, if not all, of the hognose from our yard due to neighbors cats running free 24/7 :(((
