This Disappears When Logged In

Found This Guy/gal on My Front Porch...Aphonopelma Schmidti???

    Not sure if it is okay. It was curled up, and at first I thought it was dead, but it reared up at me when I nudged it with my foot. I think it is a female from the hours of internet research...that night it came alive and was climbing all over the large critter cage I put it in. So, hopefully it is okay. Any info on tarantulas would be apprecieated. How/what to feed them, etc. Thanks.

    A nice find! However, I recommend you release it back into the wild. She will be much happier there.

    I intend to release her. I just want to observe her for awhile. I've never had the opportunity to do that. And I want to be sure she is well, and strong. She is beautiful, and large, about 4" across. I think she was dehydrated when I found her, and seemed weak. She drank a lot of water; but she is getting better and not so lethargic now.

    As tempting as it is, I am not keeping her.:)
