can 50gallon rubbermaid containers be used as a permant housing situation?

itd be a lot easier and such for me money wise, and id be able to get a bigger snake than

is a 50gl. rubbermaid the same as a 50gl. aquarium (i think it should be, but might not be)

and, while im on the subject, what type of snake can live a full life in a 50 gl? thanks :D

Hi John, rubbermaid containers can be used for enclosures if adapted properly for heat, airflow, and being able to keep an escape artist snake secure! I'm not sure what the dimensions of a 50 gal container would but it will most likely be shorter in the width and longer in depth than an aquarium. You should be able to keep a medium sized snake (6 ft or so) such as a dwarf boa, a corn, king or other similar colubrid.
