I've been looking for a leo online for a while now. The other night I found one I liked and inquired about it. It was hatched in July, so I asked how long it had been listed. The breeder said he typically didn't list them until they were 30 grams and they typically hit that weight in 4-5 months. The one I was interested in was currently 43 grams and 8 inches long. Anyway, is it normal for breeders to wait that long to sell them?

That is dependent on the breeder but it isn't abnormal. I won't ship unless the gecko is at least 25 grams. It lets me know that it will be able to survive a few weeks on its fat reserves if the moving stress knocks them off feed.

That makes sense. I'm kinda wishing I had picked up one at Repticon now, so I could have gotten a younger one though. Thanks!
