Burrowing?

Discussion in 'Rainbow Boas' started by Jennifer Keeler, Aug 24, 2017.

  1. Is it normal for a BRB to burrow completely underneath the substrate? He at two fuzzies and then I didn't see him for two days. I searched- and I mean searched the tank and he was underneath the substrate.

My snake will hide a day or two after eating. She will also hide when going into a shed. If you're temps and humidity are correct I wouldn't worry about it.
You probably know this but just in case you don't, you shouldn't handle you snake for two days after it eats. Handling can cause the snake to regurgitate, really stressful in the snake

  3. Thanks. I'm glad that it was two days since he's eaten. He hadn't shed yet since I've had him/her. Not sure if the sex. This is the first time he's burrowed.

A snake with a full belly moves slower. So they tend to disappear after feeding.
