    Hi guys

Just thought I'd give you an update on our mad house :D

This year we're planning to breed the beardies and the collared lizards, the corn snakes, the western hognoses and the Dumerils boas, hopefully! Well, we have put them all together, and have so far spotted the male corn getting busy with his three ladies, the Dumerils getting friendly, and although we haven't actually seen the hognoses mating we are hoping they have.

Today Yemaya, one of our adult female beardies, has started digging and has become restless, meaning, judging by her history, that we will have beardie eggs in roughly a week!! :D

And a bonus for us... we originally bought our hogg island boas as a pair, but when we later had them re-sexed we were told they were two females. They have been apart for a while, and since the smaller one has been off food all winter and has been slightly aggressive, which is totally out of character for him/her, we thought we would put them back together just to see - perhaps she is a he afterall.. haha and guess what, we witnessed them mating the other day!! I'm especially excited about them, as there are so many people cross-breeding them with commons today, and we would love to be a part of prolonging the life of this beautiful species.

Well, that's all for now.. I'll keep you updated, but fingers crossed we should have millions of babies everywhere soon!! :D

    Thanks guys.

Andrea, I know, I was annoyed with myself thinking back at not taking a pic of the hoggs, would have looked great with my article, but I was just so astounded watching them mate!! - hmm, sounds perverse doesn't it :p

Well, still no eggs from our beardie Yemaya, although she doesn't actually feel gravid though she's showing all the signs. Incubators all set up anyway.I'll keep you updated on that one... :)

Re: the snakes,. our male corn is still getting dirty with his three girls :p Our Dums are still yearning for each other, and keep doing so every time we separate them, so they're going back together for another mating. Our female hognose has just had her post-ovulation shed, so fingers crossed we may have eggs any day :D

And our hogg island boas are mating like mad, and our female is going through her post-ovulation shed right now. Here's a couple of pics of them mating!!

Also, we suspect that our female BRB may have just had a post-ovulation shed, although this isn't ideal, but will provide regular updates on that too! Oh dear, rack building and incubators gallore at ours!! :D

That's so exciting Rachel!! (A bit much all at once, but really great!) When it rains, it pours!
Most people say "It's raining cats and dogs" ... at Rachel's house it's raining gravid herps!!!

the only thing i ever bred are beardies and really they took care of that for me. this year my female beardie went into brumation at the time she normally breeds but thats ok cuz now all of my female leopards are gravid and my corns are getting busy.

Well, Yemaya our female dragon laid 29 eggs yesterday.. unfortunately all infertile :( This is very inconsistent for her, so we are wondering if it was an unfertilised clutch, that is the male hasn't mated with her this time. Ah well, shame as I was really looking forward to babies, but we'll have some soon I'm sure..

Here's another pic of the hoggs mating, a close up of the tails and if you look really carefully you can see part of one of the male's hermipenes! :p
