I just got a new sonoran and I'm trying to figure out what type of bedding and substrate to use. I have two tupperware containers with aspen bedding in them with a large hole cut in the side as reptile caves and then I have reptile carpet as the main tank liner. Is this ok? Should I change something? Thanks!!

The carpet will work but I prefer a layer of aspen. Lets them slither around in it.

I tried that and he just lay there but when i took it out and changed the layout to what I described he moved around more and seemed less stressed

Since he is new, I suggest sitting the tank up and then leaving the snake alone for a week or so to get settled in. Right now he is stressed out.
