Baby Dragon Care

Discussion in 'Water Dragons' started by Djangoandbrandi, Jul 30, 2017.

  1. My chinese water dragons mate all the time though breeding was never my intention my big guy was just lonely...long story short for the first time I have 2 little viable eggs. I am thrilled to have 2 new babies. Not so thrilled that their seem to be tons of information on what to do with the eggs but zero information on the hatching end. Do they eat the shell? How long should I wait before trying to feed them? Will the parents try to eat them? So many questions any incite would be appreciated!

I don't know much on the species but I'd try to feed the babies right away. Also I'd keep them somewhere away from the parents. It's not common for reptiles to eat their young but it's better safe than sorry. I Wouldn't think they would eat the shell but I may be wrong.
