    What are Avatars?

Avatars are small graphical images that you may choose in your profile. They are displayed by your username on all posts that you make.

Avatars need to be appropriate in nature. Images depicting nudity, or other explicit graphics are not allowed as avatars. This is a family oriented site. We have members of all ages, and it is our job as staff members, and also parents, to keep the site clean and safe for all ages.

    Uploading an Avatar

We have enabled custom avatars, which allows you to upload an avatar image from your computer. The option to do this is located in the UserCP.

To use this feature, open your UserCP and choose "Edit Avatar" from the left hand navigation.

When the new page loads, click the radio button called: "Use Custom Avatar".

Below that, there are 2 locations and methods for inserting an avatar.

The first location allows you to "hot link" to an image that you may have hosted on another site such as Photobucket. Simply enter the URL of the image, and click "save changes". If the image is correctly sized, it will now be used as your avatar. If it is not, you will receive an error and the image will need to be resized.

The other method allows you to upload an image from your computer. Click the browse button, locate the image on your computer, and then choose "save changes". If the image is correctly sized, it will now be used as your avatar. If it is not, you will receive an error and the image will need to be resized.

Images are a fun way to separate the identities of users and to add some flare to your posts. Please keep in mind that Avatars should be friendly and appropriate. If we need to remove your avatar, we will also prevent you from adding another by disabling the option for you.

If you aren't sure if the avatar you want to use is appropriate, it isn't. Appropriate avatars won't have you asking yourself that!
