If so should I be worried?
Hi, are they colubrids? If yes, they possibly may be, but doubtful they`re harmful to a healthy person.
If you want more info perhaps Bryan Grieg Fry`s website will help: venomdoc.com.
Hog noses are known to be mildly venomous, but being rear fanged you just about have to deliberately get bitten. And even then it is mild. Not a danger to a healthy human unless you are allergic to it.
What Merlin said! They are venomous, but it's extremely rare to get bitten. You'd practically have to be TRYING. So I wouldn't worry about it. If you plan on getting one or already have one be sure to check the laws in your state and county to make sure it's legal to own (as you should do with all exotics)
Mine never, ever bites... he headbuts. Not even kidding, and i hear they are all like this, too.
There venom is from the Duvernoy's gland so there venom is in there saliva not venom sacs.
