Long shot l know but has anyone or is anyone rearing butterflies or moths ?
Been interested since l was 17 l'm 47 now and still keen on the subject...have reared many species in the past mostly species from the Americas and a few from Europe..
But as life progressed and family came along l decided to shelve the rearing as it was taking up to much of my time...

Dirphia avia male and female....larva were a nightmare 6in long stung like nettles...if ye knock one off they all fell off in clusters..l found that out when 10 fell on the back of my hand and l ended up with a 5in blister on it..ouch...

Anyway just thought l would start a thread bout this might even get me starting again if theres enough interest..
Still got my collection of reared specimens and a few are on the comp as pics.
