I'm rehoming a amazon tree boa this weekend and possibly a red tail boa the next. Eventually I'm gonna build them a two cages but connected like just stacked. But the area will only allow 2x4x3 dimensions (length x width x height) for the ATB. Is that big enough? And what would should I use? Other than melamine. I need it to look like nice furniture but be able to with stand high humidity.
That should be plenty big for a ATB. I keep my basins in a 18"x18"x24" cage. As for withstanding high humidity, any wood product will eventually warp/swell due to moisture. IMO, you don't need high humidity, just spray every 3 days and it should dry out that afternoon. As for the material, you can use something like melamine for the short term, but don't forget, you will need a heat panel and a thermostat. I recommend Pro Products heat panels and Herpstat thermostats. But I just noticed the date on the thread...I guess you have them already?
