I'm guessing if any of my 4-Gray Tree Frogs were male I should be hearing noise from them by now???

For those who weren't here last year, I raised a bunch of batches of tadpoles, and ended up keeping 4 frogs. (from 3 different batches).

So they are not quite a year old, and with my windows open the last few nights we all can hear the froggy chorus from outside -- but nothing from my tank:(

does this mean I didn't get one male??

Its possible, or they just aren't old enough yet.

hmmm... I would have thought they would be old enough by now. (But then again, males do tend to mature at a slower rate:p;))

keeping my fingers crossed -- I love the sound of chirping frogs!

:( that's what I was figuring. Since I haven't heard anything from them yet - that they were girls. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed that they are slow croakers:p

And yes, Kelly and I can beat anyone to the crazy side - that's because we know all the short cuts!:D

I had a tank full of croakers. I shipped them off to Texas to keep Marsha awake at night!

I think gray treefrogs need more than a year to be able to reproduce. Are they adult size yet?
Also, males have dark throats, you should check that out too.

They all have dark speckles on their throat -- in varying degrees of color (go figure!). One's throat is mostly white with dark speckles around the edges and one is blotchy all over. The other two are somewhere in between.

What is adult size? Two are approximately 2" nose/butt and side/side, and the other two are closer to 1 3/4" nose/butt and 1 1/2" side/side.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!;)

I think that's actually pretty much adult size...go figure!
maybe you have 4 males with low sexual envy...
