For the size of the feeding box we use large 3 to 4 foot plastic containers, like the ones you use to store chriastmas decorations.
As luck would have it late last night there was a special on animals planet about keeping large snakes, it was called The Big Squeeze.
They gave the recommendations if biten by a snake.
Alchol was number one this can be kept in a bootle and carried with you (either drinking or rubbing they used whiskey and it worked like a charm) and it works well for us too.
Hot water pour on yourself and the snake
    Bend the tail back.
Keep a towel with alchol on it in case of striking.
I think it is just going to take time . We leave our snakes to digest thier food for about 24 hours occasionally 48 if there is still a bump.

Alcohol is an old time snake handlers trick and has worked very well for many years. One note though. Rubbing alcohol is toxic and using it on a towel is fine. However if you use a spray bottle use whiskey as it can be ingested in small amounts (by the snake) without harming the snake.
