taming?
I've had Scarlett since March. And I take her out a few times a day and I'll iteract with her inside her cage when I'm feeding or misting. And it still seems like she's absolutely terrifed of me.
When I take her out of the cage, she puts up a fight and once she's out she's usually ok.. however she gets possessed from time to time and makes a mad dash for freedom. She's only 11 inches so I'm still nervous about her getting lost in my room. Any tips for taming the wild beast? I want her to be able to hang out outside the cage and eventually be able to roam and hang out with me out here. |

I have had a bad experience with letting small lizards(less than a meter) around a room. Many bad things can happen(furniture squishing the lizard, you accidentally injuring the lizard when your chasing after it,hiding in an inaccessible place,...etc.).I would advise rather that you spend as much time, effort and money on making it's cage more like his/her natural home(a large semiaquatic vivarium).

Just contine to handle her everyday, and definatley allow her some free roaming time in your room. I always let my WD run around for atleast an hour everyday it gives them needed exercise seeing as they dont really have to chase after their food
. After a while she will hang out with you during free roam time, my monsters always did lol. |

I've never let any of my reptiles free roam, simply because there are way too many places in my house they can get lost or stuck. Plus I have an inside cat that would love to make lunch of a lizard or snake. I think just holding them every day and letting them get used to you should help. Mine like to ride on my shoulder even when they're less than impressed with me. lol
