Haha I've had the Leopard Geckos do similar things, I'd rush into the room tapping the glass because my sister informed me that one was 'dead' but then it would give me the evil eye for waking it up.

Very cute! But..

...did they go on their backs themselves, or did you flip them on their backs? Chinese ater dragons will fall "asleep" when on their backs, but in reality they're passing out as, due to their body design, their lungs don't operate properly when they're on their backs They can't breathe >_<; So if you see your dragon on its back, please flip it over.

I would have passed out, the anoles I was fostering anoles used to sleep on their sides under the nestlike hide I had for them, and the first couple of times I saw it I almost had a heart attack.

I have anoles all over in my garden. Every night the same two come to sleep on the leaves just outside my door. Its awesome.
