Heh , the 55 gallon would be good for a juvenile, but you'll need someplocae bigger when they grow up. Be careful with substrate; most people recommend stuff that's bigger than their head so they can't eat it, like bark. (Bought from petshops, of course.) I use Bed-A-Beast, from Pet Tech products, which is more of a dirt-like substance but is easy to digest and harmless. gotta watch out for impaction.

Good luck with your dragon You'd probably want to ask a more senior forum member than me, I'm a newbie at this :P

Hi, and welcome to the HCN. A 55 gal will last you about a year and a half if not more. Chinese Water Dragon require UVB lighting, which you can get in the form of a mercury vapor bulb or flourcents, MVB is better for WD becasue it creates a basking spot while producing the required UVB rays. Temps in your cage should be 84-88, 84 on the cool side 88 on the warm side. Humidity should be no lower then 60% and is best at a steady 80%. For substrate I used a mixture of peat moss and green moss, it helped keep the huidity up. For their diet you should fed crickets as a staple along with mealies. Waxworms should be given one every 2 weeks as a "treat" they shouldnt be fed in more then quanaties of 2 or 3 at a time. I had 3 of the buggars they are great lizards to keepp Good luck with him and welcome to the HCN. I purchase all of my enclosures at glasscages.com

I've seen some of LLL's animals in person and a lot of them were very nice looking animals. I don't know if I buy CWDs from them but I did almost buy a crested gecko from them once at an expo.
