Got Pics?

Hey,

I was just interested in seeing some of your Chinese Water Dragon'S, and their enclosures,
I would post some of my own, but I left my camera at home(I'm at "nerd" camp).

Thanks
Lizardpoo

(a little bio info about the Chinese Water Dragon would be cool)

Just for you I uploaded some more pictures of Heebeejeeebee, my juvenile Chinese Water Dragon. (And right after I did, my father showed me how to take pictures that are actually in focus with decent lighting. ehheheh.) If you want info, well, she's probably about a year old; I've had her for four and a half weeks. She's undergoing her first shed with me =D And no, I don't know she's a she, hence why I picked a nice gender neutral name

Here's an old one of her in her original 55Gal tank, which I broke =/

This is her temporary home, it's only 20 gallons >_O; We have the new one coming in the mail; it'll be 270 gallons and just the size she'll need when she's grown =D

Close-up of the same shot. I'm trying ot keep that humidity up because she's shedding.

...as you can see here ~_^

Zee leezard, she enjoys her bath. Again, apologies for the bad quality, didn't want to scare her with the flash.

And perhaps her favorite place, under zee log of joy. That one the flash accidently went off on, but she didn't even react; she was already chillin' like that =p

I don't always have lamps on this miniterrarium, because it's located right next to the air conditioner..so I don't use my AC . Which means, as it's summer in michigan, it's already 80-90 degrees... so unless she seems like she wants some more rays, and it's already really hot, I leave the lamp off. She's basking beneath her lamp righ tnow quite contendedly, evne though it's.. *checks her cage temp* 102.5 O_O; Have fun, little one...

cool

sweet pics,

Heebeejeebee seems to have some cool coloration, like that awesome stripe by Its eye.

Very dark right now, is it normally darkish or is it because of the shedding like you said?

thanks for replying

Thanks

Many people have noted that baby water dragons tend to be dark on top for some reason. But a lot of the darkness, yeah, is because of her shed. Where the skin's gone she's a purdy green

Yes, the stripe next to the eye is something every Chinese Water Dragon has.

Here's a couple of mine.

Here's Lafiel, she lost some of her crest somehow (I'm thinking a couple crickets that hid in her cage got ahold of it or a bad shed), but it's healing so she'll be alright, she's a little stressed though.

Here's Sousuke, my little swan of a male who had the worst shedding problem when I got him that he lost a good bit of a couple of back toes. He also lost half his tail during an accident. But he's great now and turning into a really handsome little guy.

I don't have any enclosure cages...maybe when I get the new one that's being built set up, I don't know.

Hey guys, great pics.

thank you, and keep em coming!

(mshrmheadcharge, I thought the stripe was cool because my Emiko's isn't so pronounced)

Manhirwen, those are some gorgeous dragons!

I'm a bit worried that my heebee has a shed problem too. When I go to the petstore where I got her, I always go visit all the animals cuz I'm a spazz >:P But I saw the cage where they kept her and the humity guage is divided into three parts "Desert" "Moderate" and "Tropical" -the dragons were stuck on Desert =/ Of course they mist twice a day but sometimes that's not enough. However last time I went there they had put in a new waterfall =D It's petsmart; they try to take good care of the hanimals.

I am a bit worried about her little toesies though.. Anyone have pictures of healthy dragon toes ? :P Back feet especially..eh, I'll make a new topic about it soon xD

And thanks for the compliments on heebee's little eye stripe^^ I really didn't notice she had one anymore than any other dragon , but now that I look at pictures it sure seems that way, huh? Maybe I shoulda given her a stripey-related name :P

Here is a comparison of a normal CWDs feet and one who has had retained shed for so long that the blood was cut off from the feet and resulted in loss of many toes. Sousuke already had the damage done by the time I got him and I saved what I could.

A normal CWDs feet

A CWDs feet after losing toes from retained shed.

I dont have any pics but my youngest WD lost 3 of his toes due to retained sheds before I resuced him or whatnot. If you do notice retained shed soak him in warm wanter and gently rub the areas with the retained shed. This will help loosen it up a bit.
