Necrosis or normal? =/
My Heebeejeebee started her first shed with me yesterday. Beautiful turqoise color! But today part of her tail shed, near the base, started coming off, and it seems more of a yellowish, with splotches. I wasn't expecting this; I'm worried it might be necrosis, so here's some information.
I've had her for four weeks and this is her first shed with me. She's a juvenile, about a year old judging by size. (About 11 inches snout to tail.) I'm very careful with humidity (although we had a temp disaster about a week ago due to faulty thermometers -luckily she had her log to hide under or we might have had some baked dragon =/), but the pet shop I got her from, while it did mist twice a day or so, sometimes let the humidity get to unacceptable levels (20, 30%) in-between. She was brown for a few days prior to shed (but again that might have been from the tempy troubles -she greened up a bit once we fixed that -btw by "Tempy troubles" I mean "it got to 113 degrees in her basking area" ><; Stupid thermomter...) , although her tail always seems brown -but I've read that's normal. Any ideas ? I tried taking pics but they're fairly low-quality, I'll upload them soon if I can. |

Well, it seems much greener now
Still a bit splotchy, but definitely healthier. I do worry too much, but I'm glad I do; I'd rather she be safe and happy than sorry. Now it's time to worry that she can't seem to shed the top of (most of) her head at all, hoorah! |
