They're beautiful, smart (for a lizard) and fun to watch. They also are fairly friendly towards people and don't mind sitting on shoulders or hanging out for a period of time.

I like them not only cuz they are gorgeous and smart but cuz they are so funny! As you read they are the masters at playing dead..come on..who wouldnt want to wake up to their Chinese Water Dragon faking dead just for you...its how they show they love you! <3!

hahaha that's so evil! I want one so bad What are they like compaired to horned dragons etc? Like why do people like Chinese Water Dragon over everything else?

Its not that ppl like them more its just that Chinese Water Dragon are more available then say mountain horned dragons, or aussi water dragons. They are more easily handeled compared to MHD and grow about 12-15 inches bigger then MHD...they are also less fussy and require less care then MHD.

What about compaired to leopard geckos? Aside from the walking into the air thing which gives me a heart attack every time he tries to walk up over his hide and walk into the nothing but he looks so happy about it lol...

a gecko always has a smile youll notice that but mine never stays still while being handled unless he crawls in my shirt sleeve my Chinese Water Dragon's on the other hand play dead so ill go wake them and then they attach to my hand and rocket up towards my shoulder and sit there for an hour or two as I watch tv or surf the net. like I say I love them all but each in their own way.. my cornsake will run thru my fingers for a while then he just sits there sniffing away each herp is fun in its own way thats for sure

Could you guys tell me a little more about this playing dead thing? I've never had a wd and you all seem to bring it up! Tell me your experiences!

they can hold their breath for upwards of 5 mins they close their eyes and dont move just lie there it funny

OH NO!!! I donno if I could ever own one if anyone has noticed any of my panicy notes on the gecko board haha...oh no...my wd is dead....post 2: oh no...my wd is dead again...That is comical, anyone know why they do it? It would still be great if you kept posting about things on why you like your wd and funny stories
